Polokus could not kill.
He could destroy the robots that had invaded him.
But they were not alive and certainly part of his nightmare that had slipped through his fingers.
Oops.
Well at least that ol' good for nothing hero had wrapped it all back together.
And woken up Polokus.
Well, yeah.
Polokus could not kill - despite being a god.
And that is why he, Jano, had always had the responsibility of watching over Polokus's nightmares, so that they wouldn't penetrate his dream, that was reality. Or so, we had beloved long enough.
Jano however had gotten away with it, for helping Rayman out on his quest. It was just natural after all. If someone came up to him, he would help out of course. Anything was better than the neverending boredom or horror you had to face when babysitting a bunch of nightmares.
It had all worked well for a while.
Until Razourbeard the robot-pirate, even said nightmare that had slipped through his fingers returned and requested help.
And as how Jano was, he helped.
The coup he had planned however, never got into motion.
For Rayman was there...
and Polokus awake.
They had found out and soon Jano was cornered. Suavely adjusting his hat the eig nodded at them for the last time.
Leave their world without a guardian.
Let them see how they would handle nightmares on the loose.
"I would love to see you try," he hissed at the limbless being next to Polokus's side and before Jano could say another word, he had dissolved and drifted off into another world.
Another world that was certainly not a dream or a nightmare.
Another world that was... reality.
Or so he believed.
